Alisyn Camerota
Alisyn Camerota - journalist, author, host of CNN's "New Day" morning program, Westport resident and Westport Country Playhouse trustee - has been elected. Camerota, who has been an editor for more than 30 years, has covered stories worldwide and across the country. She was awarded one Emmy Award in her early career for covering the arrest of Roger Stone and the Edward R.Murrow Award for breaking the news of the hurricane Maria. Johnna G. Torsone from Stamford has been named as an honorary board member after being on the board for more than seven years. Anna Czekaj Farber, who serves as the current chair of the Westport board after having served as its chair since 2013, also the new board member. Czekaj Farber takes over from Barbara Streicker from Westport who served as board chair in the previous year. She was in the position since 2006. There there are 26 trustees on the board of The Playhouse.
